Farmhouse Scansano

Scansano is a historic village in the Maremma region, which originated in the Etruscan-Roman period. The village developed further in the Middle Ages and became a stronghold of the powerful Aldobrandeschi family.
In its historical center it has preserved several buildings and churches dating back to the latter period. Here are some examples: the 15th-century Pretorio Palace and the Porta Grossetana, a gateway to the village through the original medieval walls. There are also many churches, oratories, abbeys, and convents around the village that deserve at least one visit.
Scansano is particularly famous as Morellino’s production site, very popular DOCG wine all over the world. Campaigns around the village are covered with vineyards, but there are also wineries and wine shops perfect for a tasting on the territory.
